Art of Viniyoga explained
Sadhana Māla: Sādhana Māla was set up in England, in 2004 by Dave Charlton and Ranju Roy to teach yoga in various contexts, but specialising in teacher training, study courses and retreats. Ranju and Dave run ongoing training courses, retreats and study courses on a wide variety of aspects of yoga.
About the course
The Art of Viniyoga will give you a thorough grounding in the principles that underpin viniyoga: structuring a practice, working intelligently with the sequencing of postures, using the breath in asana, seated breathing, philosophy (especially Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra), and Vedic chant. The emphasis is always on working through practice.
Who is it for?
The course is designed for keen students who wish to understand the principles of viniyoga and develop their practice further .
It is also perfect for experienced students and teachers form other yoga backgrounds who would like to understand viniyoga in some depth.

Eleanor and Paula did all their viniyoga training together, starting with the Stage One Introductory Course in 2003, moving on to Stage 2, (Art of Viniyoga equivalent, 2005) and the Sadhana Mala Teacher Training and Yoga Therapy Programme with Ranju Roy and Dave Charlton (2007-2010). They have both been long-term students of Hanne Gillespie at Clonlea Yoga Studio in Blackrock, Co. Dublin, and now each runs regular group classes, as well as teaching individuals for a more therapeutic approach, and running workshops.
This is our first joint teaching venture, and we’re very excited to be offering this course, to explore together, with a committed group of students, the yoga we love so much!
Santosha Yoga Studio is a small, intimate space in the heart of Dalkey The studio holds a maximum of six students. We want to run this course on a small scale, giving opportunities for individual attention and creating a vibrant and supportive group dynamic.
